The Starting Point

A growing business, ready for its next chapter

Model Remodel had built a reputation on sustainable practices and award-winning craftsmanship — and an on-prem file server that had simply grown alongside them, year after year. As the company expanded, it was time for the systems behind the scenes to match the quality of the work in front of clients.

01Field staff got resourceful about reaching job files without VPN access — usually by calling the office — but the team was ready for something that just worked from anywhere.

02Without versioning, managed metadata, or real search, the team leaned on institutional memory to find things — a strength worth building real tools around.

03Security had grown informally over time rather than around a defined schema, and the team was ready to put real role-based protection behind their sensitive project information.

04Most staff were new to M365 beyond day-to-day email and file basics — the team was ready to grow its own tech skills right alongside the new environment.

How we got there

Six phases, run iteratively with the Model Remodel team rather than a single big-bang cutover.

PHASE 01 Discovery Surface-level review of configuration, storage, and existing sites, followed by a deep dive into security posture relative to actual business risk.	PHASE 02 Assessment Scoped the project, built the timeline and estimates, and flagged remediation items — empty items, invalid naming, the usual cleanup.	PHASE 03 Preparation Remediated flagged content, applied configuration changes, and set a site-by-site launch schedule using Microsoft's Migration Manager.
PHASE 04 SharePoint Build Designed and built the site architecture, paired with a governance plan so the structure holds up as the company keeps growing.	PHASE 05 Content Migration Moved content in an iterative process, with regular checkpoints alongside the Model Remodel team.	PHASE 06 Training & Support Delivered training, SOPs, and reference materials, then stayed engaged with the same weekly-touchpoint rhythm Model Remodel gives its own clients on-site.
